Stanley's on Ashland Ave.

Stanley's  restaurant and bar was established in 1924 by Stanley & Josephine Kurek.  The business operated from different locations near 43rd Street & Ashland Avenue in Chicago, one of the main gates to the Union Stockyards, before relocating to its current location (#4) directly across the main gate in 1935.  The business is owned and managed by Wanda Kurek who began working with her parents in 1952.

Daily lunches feature a hot plate "special" made the old-fashioned way.  Crowd favorites include Meat Loaf, Mash Potatoes & Corn / Stuffed Cabbage, Mixed Vegetables & Potato Salad / and traditional Turkey Dinners.  Homemade salads include coleslaw, potato salad, cucumber salad and/or tomato & onion salad.  All meals are prepared by Wanda.

We are proud to call thousands of men and women who built the great city of Chicago our friends and customers.  Stop by and say hello.  We are open from 10:30 AM through 8:00 PM Monday through Friday; closed weekends.  Lunch is served daily until 2:00 PM.
